Medium · 5–7O is a simple circle, and that makes it a great letter for toddlers. These letter O coloring pages pair the big O with an octopus, a wise owl, an otter floating on its back, a tall ostrich and an opossum. There is a juicy orange with leaves, an onion, and a chef cooking an omelette.
Coloring a circle is a good warm-up for little hands. Ask your child to color the O round and round, then fill the middle. Orange for the orange, of course, and purple or pink for the octopus.
Round and round. Trace the O with a finger, starting at the top and going around like a clock. This is how they will write it.
Octopus arms. Count the octopus's eight arms. Color them in a pattern of two colors.
Find circles. After coloring, go on a circle hunt: plates, clocks, buttons, wheels. Each one is shaped like an O.
O sounds. Say otter and octopus for the short O. Then say oak and ocean for the long O. Which sound does owl make?
Yes. O is just a circle, the first shape most toddlers learn to draw. The big round outline is easy to fill with chunky crayons, which makes this a good early letter.
Orange and olive start with O. Orange is a great first color word because it is also a fruit. Olive is a yellowish green you can use for the octopus or the leaves.
Yes. The Download all button near the top puts every picture in a single PDF. It makes one PDF of all the letter O pictures, sized for US Letter paper.
Some do. The octopus page, for example, shows Oo at the top. Point to each one and explain that the small o is just a smaller circle. That makes O one of the easiest letters for lowercase practice.
Not quite. Ask a grown-up to help.
