About Dragon coloring pages

Our dragon coloring pages show dragons at their friendliest. A baby dragon hatches from its egg, another blows bubbles, and others fly a kite, read a book, play guitar, eat a cupcake and build a sandcastle. One wears a party hat, one wears a wizard hat and one stands tall with a little crown.

Dragon scales are fun to fill with color. Try a light base color, then draw small half circles in a darker shade for scales. Wings look great with a different color on the inside.

How to use dragon coloring pages for learning

  1. Dragon story. Ask your child to name the dragon and tell what it likes to do. Write the story on the back of the page.

  2. Scale patterns. Draw scales in rows of two colors, like green and blue, to practice patterns.

  3. Feelings. Look at the dragon's face. Is it happy, sleepy or silly? Talk about feelings.

  4. Day in the life. Color three dragon pages and put them in order as morning, afternoon and night.

Questions parents and teachers ask

Are dragon coloring pages good for preschoolers?

Yes. These dragons are cute, not scary. The Easy pages suit ages 2 to 4, and Medium and Tricky pages have more detail for older kids.

Can I download all the printable dragon coloring pages at once?

Yes. Press the Download all button at the top of the page to save every dragon coloring sheet in one PDF.

What colors should a dragon be?

Any color you like. Green, red and purple are classic, but a pastel dragon or a rainbow dragon looks just as good. Try a lighter belly and darker back.
