Tricky · 8+I is a thin letter, so the pictures around it do a lot of the work. These letter I coloring pages include an igloo with a flag, an iguana wearing a flower crown, an inchworm on a leaf, an ibis, an impala and an indri lemur. Others show ice cream, ice skates, a glass of ice, an iris in bloom, ivy wrapped around the letter, an ink bottle with a pen and a steaming iron.
Most of these are Medium pages with small parts to fill. Colored pencils help in tight spots. Light blue and white make a frosty igloo, and the iguana looks great in two or three greens.
Two I sounds. Say inchworm and igloo for the short I. Then say ice and iris for the long I. Sort the pages into two piles by sound.
Cold and hot. Pair the igloo, iceberg and ice pages with the iron page. Talk about hot and cold, and which ones you should never touch.
Inch by inch. Use a ruler to measure the inchworm on the page. Then find something in the room that is about one inch long.
Island map. Color the island page, then draw a small map with an X to mark a hidden treasure. Your child can give directions to find it.
Most pages in this set are Medium, which suit ages 5 to 7. Younger children can still enjoy them if you color together, or let them fill only the big letter I and the main picture. Check the Easy filter for the simplest pages.
Indigo, ivory and ice blue start with I. Indigo is a deep blue-purple, one of the colors of the rainbow. Ivory is a soft off-white that works well for the igloo.

Many pages show the word as well as the picture. After coloring, cover the word and ask your child to spell it out loud or write the first letter. Start with short words like ice and ink.
