About Tricky coloring pages

They have smaller shapes, more detail, patterns, mandalas and busy scenes that take time to finish. These pages are a good challenge for kids who find simpler pictures too quick, and many families enjoy coloring them together at the same table.

Fine-tip markers, gel pens and sharp colored pencils work best in small spaces. Start in the middle and work outward so your hand does not smudge the finished parts, and pick a small group of colors before you begin. Three or four colors, repeated across the page, usually look better than every color in the box. Tricky pages are also a lovely way to wind down. Focusing on one small shape at a time can feel calming after a busy school day, and there is no rush: a page can be finished over a few evenings and then hung up with pride.
