About January coloring pages

Our January coloring pages are all about winter. Penguins skate and build a snowman, a polar bear cub slides on the ice, a seal juggles snowballs and a walrus wears a winter hat. There are sleds, ice skates, snowflakes, icicles, mittens, boots and a snow globe, plus a warm fireplace, a winter cabin and a cup of cocoa.

Winter pages look great in cool colors: light blue, white, gray and silver. Add a warm red or orange to scarves and hats so they pop against the snow.

How to use January coloring pages for learning

  1. Winter clothes. Name each winter item on the pages: hat, scarf, mittens, boots. Talk about why we wear them.

  2. Snowflake shapes. Real snowflakes have six sides. Count the points on the snowflake page.

  3. Arctic animals. Talk about how polar bears, seals and penguins stay warm. (Polar bears live in the north and penguins mostly in the south.)

  4. Snow day plan. Color the sled and snow angel pages, then plan what to do on the next snow day.
