August Coloring Pages for Kids

Updated

August is the last big beach month, and almost all of these 31 pages are at the shore. Kids build sandcastles with buckets and shovels, and play beach ball beside seashells and starfish. There's a beach umbrella by the waves, a sailboat, a palm tree and a two-scoop ice cream cone with a cherry on top.

Sandcastle Season

More than a third of the August coloring pages have a sandcastle. Kids in bucket hats and sun hats shape towers, a girl jumps beside one, and a castle sits with a bucket and a starfish. Two friends build one together, and four kids play by the sea.

Summer Treats and Beach Things

Other pages focus on single beach items, which work well for younger kids: sunglasses, a sailboat, a kite, a sand bucket with a shovel and ball, and the August sun. There's also a watermelon, popsicle and sunflower page.

August pages are Medium and Tricky. The single-item pages, like sunglasses or the sailboat, are the simplest.

August Ideas

  • Collect real seashells and compare them to the ones on the beach page.
  • Color the beach umbrella in stripes of two colors.
  • Color one last summer page before school starts, then move on to the back-to-school September coloring pages.

Questions Parents and Teachers Ask

Are all August pages about the beach?

Nearly all of them. You'll find sandcastles, seashells, beach balls and sailboats, plus summer treats like ice cream and watermelon. The kite and August sun pages are among the few away from the sand.

What's a good August page for a younger child?

The single-item pages, like the sunglasses, the sailboat and the sand bucket, have bigger shapes and less background than the sandcastle scenes.
