Leaves and woodland animals

The single leaf pages, a maple leaf and an oak leaf, are great for little ones and for leaf activities. The woodland animals are getting ready for winter: a squirrel, a raccoon and a chipmunk with acorns, a hedgehog, a badger, a fox, a deer and an owl on a moonlit oak branch.

Harvest and cozy fall

Fall is harvest time, with an apple orchard, a cornucopia overflowing with fruit, an autumn farm, corn and a wheelbarrow. There's a sweater on a clothesline, and indoors a fireplace, a pie being baked, a pumpkin spice latte and a slice of pie with a steaming mug. There's also a treehouse, a stone well, a footbridge, a bicycle and a rake.

About a quarter of the fall pages are Easy, like the toddler sunflower, pear and mug. The rest are Tricky scenes.

Fall leaf ideas

  • Collect real leaves, then match them to the maple and oak leaf pages.
  • Use only red, orange, yellow and brown for a true fall look.
  • Rake a pile of leaves, jump in like the fox, then color that page.

For pumpkins and friendly ghosts, see October. For turkeys, try Thanksgiving coloring pages.

Questions parents and teachers ask

Is there a leaf coloring page?

Yes, two: a maple leaf and an oak leaf. Each shows one big leaf, which is easy for toddlers and works well beside real leaves your child collects.

Why do leaves change color in the fall?

Leaves are green from chlorophyll, which helps trees make food from sunlight. In fall, trees stop making it, the green fades, and the yellows and oranges underneath show through.
