About Medium coloring pages
Medium coloring pages suit children aged about 5 to 7, who can already hold a crayon well and want a bit more to do. These pages have more parts to fill, a simple background or a small scene, and medium-sized shapes that reward careful coloring. They are a good next step once easy pages start to feel too quick, and they fit well with kindergarten and first grade.
Colored pencils and washable markers are ideal at this stage, because they allow neater edges and more detail. Encourage your child to plan a little: pick colors for the big areas first, then fill in the smaller ones. Kids this age also enjoy adding their own touches, like extra clouds, a sun or their name at the top. Medium pages work well for homework breaks, quiet time and rainy days, and teachers can use them as a calm activity after recess. Talking about the scene together, who is in it and what might happen next, builds language skills as well as coloring skills.
Questions parents and teachers ask
How do I know if my child is ready for medium pages?
If your child can finish an easy page mostly inside the lines and asks for more detail, they are ready. Most children reach this stage at around five years old, but every child moves at their own pace.
Which coloring tools work best for ages 5 to 7?
Colored pencils and washable markers give neater results than crayons. A set of 12 to 24 colors is plenty. Keep a pencil sharpener nearby, and choose washable markers to make cleanup easier.
How can I make medium pages more fun?
Ask your child to tell a story about the picture, add extra details like a sun or a pet, or color the same page twice with different colors and compare which version they like best.
How many medium coloring pages are there?
There are 855 medium coloring pages right now, in topics such as alphabet, animals, anime, bugs & birds and cartoon characters.
How do I print these coloring pages?
Open any page and press Print, or press Download PDF to save it. Pages are sized for standard US Letter paper (8.5 x 11 inches) and also fit A4. Wide pictures print sideways (landscape) automatically.
Can my child color these pages on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Press Color online on any page. Tap a shape to fill it, or draw with the brush, crayon and marker. Press Save to keep the picture in My Gallery on that device; nothing is uploaded.
